Former Deputy Sheriff Convicted in Texas of Extortion

Former Harris County Deputy Sheriff George Wesley Ellington, of Houston, pled guilty to one count of extortion under color of official right in connection with accepting money to provide protection to a person he believed was illegally possessing and transporting Ecstasy.
