Massachusetts Man Pleads Guilty in Connection with Theft of Gold and Silver Coins

Charles F. Whelan, of Abington, Massachusetts, pled guilty in Fort Pierce, Florida to mail fraud in connection with a scheme in which he sold vintage and rare coins to customers, then asked the customers to ship the coins back to him so he could sell the coins at a higher price and send the customers the money. In fact, however, Whelan never sent payment to the victims or returned the coins.
