CHARLESTON, W.Va. ? Last week Sheetz cut the ribbon on its 425th store, located in Scott Depot, West Virginia. With stores in six states, Sheetz executives are looking to continue growing store counts in the Kanawha Valley, reports the Charleston Daily Mail.
?We are in West Virginia looking at sites at least one day a week every week,? David Hazelet, Sheetz real estate director, told the newspaper. ?It's getting some pretty heavy attention.
?We've earmarked what we've called the east-west route and the north-south route,? he added, which is the Interstate 64 corridor from Huntington to Charleston, and from Charleston through Beckley.
Hazelet said that Sheetz is eyeing locations at both corridor exits. ?There's still continued search every day for sites in those areas,? he told the newspaper.
The new Scott Depot store will add 40 to 45 new full- and part-time jobs to the community. The newspaper also notes that Sheetz is planning to open 30 more stores in 2012.
