WILMINGTON, NC ? VPS Convenience Store Group announced earlier this week that in partnership with the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program, it has awarded $25,000 in grant funding to 50 schools throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia in support of math and science education.
The grants are available to schools across the country served by Exxon or Mobil stations and will fund supplemental learning tools such as science lab supplies, iPads, graphing calculators as well as field trips.
?During times of budget cuts and limited outside funding, we are proud to be able to provide our local schools with this financial support,? said Jeff Turpin, CEO of VPS. ?It?s important to make learning fun for the young people in the communities we serve, particularly in the fields of math and science.?
VPS has partnered with ExxonMobil for the past 11 years, providing more than $125,000 in grant money to local schools.
