Page Content: ?TAYLORSVILLE, UT ? The Fairstone at Riverview apartment complex in the Salt Lake City-area will be the first location of its kind to get one of Shop24 Global's robotic convenience stores, reports Vending Times.
A new exhibitor at this year?s NACS Show in Chicago, Shop24 is an automated convenience store that dispenses 200 SKUS of items such as snacks, drinks, refrigerated foods, cleaning supplies and over-the-counter medicines. The enclosure is more than 9 ft. tall and 10 ft. deep, stretching about 13 ft. wide. Shop24 accepts cash, credit and debit cards and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) cards (formerly food stamps).
Andrew Heflich, regional vice president of Shop 24 Global, told the news source that the company plans to place additional stores in Salt Lake City and at properties in Phoenix. "It's definitely what the residents want and need," he said.
Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Shop24 Global has more than 250 automated c-store locations in 15 countries with more than 150 million transactions.
In 2006, the NACS ?Ideas 2 Go? featured a Shop24 at Morrisville College in upstate New York.?�
