ARLINGTON, Texas ? A small convenience store in Arlington has sold some of the winningest tickets in Texas Lottery history. Ever since Chuck?s Grocery sold a $15.4 million lotto ticket 17 years ago, customers flock to the store to purchase lottery tickets in the hope that some of that luck will rub off on them, the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports.

?A lot of customers say this is a lucky store,? said cashier Manuel Ruiz. ?Some people stop in who haven't been here before who say they had to stop because they thought it was lucky.?

Chuck?s has a wall of winners ? photographs of winning players with their prizes?and the store touts its big wins with banners. The store ranks 21st in the top Texas lottery sellers.

But the convenience store is just one of several in Tarrant County that boast selling winning jackpot tickets. The C-Store Sub Express sold a winning Millions ticket in 2008, and close to 50 stores, along with Chuck?s, have sold Lotto Texas tickets that have won jackpots.

Despite customer opinion to the contrary, there?s probably no such thing as a ?lucky? store. ?Chances of hitting the jackpot are the same regardless of where you buy your lottery ticket, so in this sense, there are no 'lucky' places to buy tickets,? said Robert Hannum, a professor of risk analysis and gaming at the University of Denver.

?If you win the lottery tonight, you would then be considered lucky. If you win 20 straight bets at roulette, you are definitely lucky. If a particular 7-Eleven store sold three jackpot-winning lottery tickets in three months, it might be considered a lucky store for buying lottery tickets.

?The rub is none of this means you are more likely to win the lottery next week or win your next roulette bet or win the jackpot if you buy your next ticket at the 'lucky' 7-Eleven,? he said.?
