WATAUGA, Texas ? For an hour on Wednesday morning, the Chef Point Station in Watauga, Texas, sold gasoline for less than a dollar, WFAA-TV reports. From 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., the price for a gallon of gasoline was 99 cents.
The nearly $3 per gallon discount had cars lined up around the block and down the street. One customer, Octavia Fuller, said of the inexpensive fuel: ?I think it?s wonderful and it?s a blessing in disguise.?
Station owner Paula Nwaeze has achieved fame throughout the town for her generosity. She lost $3,000 during the hour-long event.
?It?s great that we can help so many people, cause people helped us over the years. And I'm glad to give back,? she said.
Chef Point Caf was featured in the 2010 NACS Ideas 2 Go DVD and in NACS Magazine.
