CHARLESTON, W.Va. ? Par Mar Stores, located throughout West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky, has launched a fundraising campaign that will donate $1 to the West Virginia Oil Marketers and Grocers Association?s (OMEGA) Make-A-Wish Foundation Campaign for each "like" Par Mar receives on its Facebook page.
?Currently, more than 90 West Virginia children living with life-threatening medical conditions have wish requests submitted to the West Virginia chapters of Make-A-Wish. We want to help in any way we can and have pledged to donate $1 to the campaign for every ?like? the Par Mar Store Facebook page receives,?said Sandra Morgenstern, president of Par Mar Stores, in a press release.
Additionally, clerks in Par Mar Stores across the state will promote the campaign to their customers. ?We hope to receive thousands of ?likes? between now and the end of the campaign? on September 1,? Morgenstern said.
OMEGA, the state association for convenience stores, independent grocers and petroleum marketers in West Virginia, is conducting an August campaign to raise funds to make dreams come true for children with severe medical conditions.
?This effort not only gives back to the communities where our members live and work, but it demonstrates the philanthropic nature of our industry. This is a win for all involved: the children, our members and the public,? said Jan Vineyard, president of OMEGA.
