TRENTON, NJ ? New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said earlier this week during a radio show that he opposes legislation for self-service gasoline stations because most residents don?t want it, the Associated Press reports.

While campaigning for governor in 2009, Christie had proposed allowing self-serve gas. However, he later dropped the proposal after receiving sharp pushback from residents.

Christie said New Jersey?s gas prices are among the lowest in the country. New Jersey is one of only two states ? Oregon is the other ? that doesn?t allow drivers to pump their own gas.
