CONCORD, NH ? The New Hampshire Liquor Commission has banned Joose, a fruit-flavored beer, declaring its labels do not sufficiently indicate it contains alcohol, the Boston Herald reports.

Eddie Edwards, the commission?s chief of enforcement, said Joose is packaged similarly to non-alcoholic beverages, with brightly colored packaging and marketing, which makes it difficult to distinguish it from soda.

The proper labeling of alcoholic beverages is ?a very serious issue? for the Liquor Commission, Edwards said, who has also endorsed a ban of Tilt Long Island Iced Tea for the same reason, though the Liquor Commission voted to approve It for sale.

?The commissioners felt Tilt was clearly labeled as an alcoholic beverage,? Edwards said.
